TOGETHER,

WE FIND HUMAN

Transforming the space between people and communities

Why Find Human?

Your worldview and leadership style influence the systems you are a part of.

Finding Human is the opportunity for individuals to see how they impact systems based upon their worldview, their race and culture, and leadership style. When we look at systems, like education, policing, human services, or our legal system, we think of a structure that people work in to serve their community in some way.

Every system is built on a set of principles or values that sustain it and guide the work. Most modern day systems are designed to serve the masses of humans. And, yet, the system itself rarely serves all humans equally or equitably. The truth is, systems are organized to serve those who create it, and if we look at history, most of the human race was not in position to create the very system it relies on to serve its needs.

How do we change a system that does not or no longer serves the needs of everyone?

What happens when leaders in a system believe that it doesn’t need changing?

What happens when the cracks in the system are hidden from the view of the leader?

How do we fix the cracks?

What will it take for us to shift our focus so that the cracks can be seen and repaired and the system becomes strong and safe for all of us?

Finding human shows us how we can individually transform our leadership style to create equitable environments that have historically failed to see the human in all of us. As we find human, we shift our focus so that the cracks can be seen and repaired. We do this by exploring what is hidden from our view about ourselves and our history and how it affects how we show up and impact the world. We repair our own fault lines so we can individually transform our leadership style in a way that transforms the systems and we are brave enough to fix the cracks.  When we shift our worldview and include everyone, together we find human.

How We Work

The Finding Human Institute combines practical education and tools with deep transformation and healing, so that our participants are left feeling whole and confident about their impact on spaces and systems.  The Finding Human Institute utilizes the L.E.A.D.™ model (Learn, Experience, Apply and Discover) developed by Forbes Solutions PLLC, and Youth Lens 360 LLC. The experiential and participatory model allows participants to explore the subject matter in a way that provides for real time transformation and immediate application.

Mission

The Finding Human Institute was formally established in the spring of 2022 to create space for the exploration and conversation of who we are as human and the complexity of race relations in our ever-changing world. While our work initially has been rooted in education, we welcome all aspiring leaders and entrepreneurs who are committed and willing to take the journey with us to examine your personal race story and lived experience.  We believe that when we speak our truth and listen to the story of others, we heal our souls. The participatory and experiential modalities offered by the institute allow for transformational change to occur both individually and organizationally. The institute invites everyone to discover and co-create lasting approaches to honoring equitable, inclusive, antiracist and anti-biased environments for all humans to be able to show up as their authentic selves and share their gifts with the world. Together we find human.
